Gymshark had become a phenomenon in the UK, rising quickly in the workout apparel sector. It had just been valuated at over $1 Billion and was expanding in the US and other markets. How do you continue to grow a brand that has exploded in size without sacrificing the integrity of the product and distribution? You add another category. Gymshark was clearly thinking about entering the footwear marketplace. They approached me to design a few styles for them on a freelance basis. In addition I pitched them on the benefit and opportunities of adding a footwear division to their company.
